Cement tiles are handmade one at a time using mineral pigments, cement, molds and hydraulic presses.
Each pattern is created by hand-applying individual pigments bit by bit in handmade brass molds. Cement tiles are not fired; there is no glaze layer on the surface of the tiles. Their durability comes from the combination of fine dehydrated cement with layers of coarse sand and cement.
The pigment layer is hydraulically pressed into the surface and becomes part of the tile. Proper installation and protection of cement tiles is key. Make sure the tiles are installed by an installer experienced in installing cement tiles.
