Floris Wubben designed an installation, inspired by a globe, which allows unique textures to be created in series. Within this installation, Floris uses a gas burner to etch textures onto an unbaked porcelain object.
The high temperature causes layers to burst from the porcelain globe.
As the fire burns off more and more layers from the globe, a translucent porcelain object emerges.
The variation in layers and the glazing process make each object unique. Globe Project is a collaboration with Cor Unum ceramics studio.
