Root Tiles are a modular acoustic system made from tiles grown directly from roots and molded into cymatic patterns that visually represent sound frequencies. Reinforced with a biobinder, these tiles are engineered to effectively absorb sound across a frequency range starting at 250 Hz, targeting mid to high frequencies. By combining biotechnology, design, and art, they function as both high-performance acoustic panels and a means of making sound visible to the eye.
